The 2023 Merrie Mill Petit Verdot is a huge wine with an immense amount of character (not unlike the flying seal that this label is probably paying homage to). This Petit Verdot is showing violets and layers of dark fruit, and was built in a wonderful vintage year with some amazing barrel influence. Not for the faint of heart, this full bodied red wine showed just like this in the vineyard. Benefitting from a gorgeous 2023 vintage and was therefore graced with extended maceration in the tank. Because of the strength and intensity of this vintage even from the beginning this wine is built to age and will continue to develop over the next 10 years.
